Next Generation Authoring (Beta)- new divider layout component

In this release we've added some new features and made further improvements to Next Generation Authoring (Beta). We've introduced a new layout component: the divider, to help developers organize and label sections of the content form. We've also fixed some more issues, several raised as a result of your feedback, as we move towards a General Availability release.

Next Generation Authoring provides an enhanced authoring experience, with features for users and developers. It's currently classified as a beta and during the beta phase you have the option to switch Next Generation Authoring on or off. We encourage you to switch it on and start taking advantage of the benefits it has to offer.
Some of these benefits include:
An enhanced "look and feel" which you get as soon as you switch it on, without any additional development
Many new developer features such as customizable input fields and schema enhancements such as conditionals
Control over form layout
Content palettes to make it easier to work with flexible lists of different types of content.

A divider is a line of variable width, with an optional label. It doesn't impact the output of your form and it's a simple way of labelling groups of properties to create notional sections. You can control the thickness of the divider line, the line style and the way the label is positioned.
In the image below we've set the line width to medium and specified that the label should appear in the middle of the line. The divider acts as a section header for the properties underneath, in this case a set of properties that demonstrate the number features of Next Generation Authoring.

Schema editor snippetsLink copied!
We've added some new snippets to the schema editor to make it easy for developers to adopt the new Next Generation Authoring features.
A "Next Gen Authoring" section has been added to the "Add property" menu in the Schema Editor, as shown in the image below. Snippets are included for tabs, grids and labelled lists, all easy to customize to use your own properties.
