CNAMEs
By default, media will be served from Dynamic Media using an Amplience domain such as cdn.media.amplience.net
. You may choose to replace the Amplience domain with your own domain so that you can request media using a URL such as https://media.yourdomain.com/
.
To enable this functionality, you will need to set up a CNAME record that points from your domain to cdn.media.amplience.net
. Amplience will then enable the configuration to securely serve media to you from https://media.yourdomain.com/
.
How do I request the CNAME service?Link copied!
CNAMEs are an additional service and are usually configured at the beginning of a project. If you wish to purchase the CNAME service then contact your Customer Success Manager.
What do I need to configure?Link copied!
For each CNAME, your DNS administrator will need to add a record to your domain DNS settings to point the CNAME record for your domain, for example media.yourdomain.com
, to cdn.media.amplience.net
.
Once you have configured your DNS settings, Amplience will then set up the configuration on your account to serve media via https://media.yourdomain.com/
.
Once my CNAME has been set up, can I still retrieve media using cdn.media.amplience.net
?Link copied!
Yes, you can still use the standard Amplience Dynamic URLs once your CNAME is set up.
Can I use a CNAME to serve static content?Link copied!
Yes, you can use CNAMEs for static publishing, but you will need to create a separate CNAME record to point to the standard static URL containing bigcontent.io
. You will need to verify the exact URL to point to with your Customer Success Manager.
Note that static and dynamic CNAMEs will need to be purchased separately. One CNAME does not include both.
