Did you know 84% of people watch videos with the sound off? Automatic Video Captions ensure your message is accessible and understood wherever your customers are and whatever they’re doing.

Video captions increase accessibility, reach and engagement

Captioning makes videos easier to watch because it’s not always convenient or possible to listen to audio.

Maybe your customer is multi-tasking, browsing on their mobile whilst watching TV. Or what if they are somewhere loud like public transport, without headphones? Moreover, 5% of the world’s population (roughly 4.3 million people) has significant hearing loss – this huge number of people don’t have access to your videos if you don’t use captions. There is legislation on both sides of the pond driving brands to increase accessibility including the Websites and Software Applications Accessibility Act in the USA and The European Accessibility Act in the EU.

Automatically generate video captions with Amplience

Automatic Video captions are available to Amplience customers who use Content Hub to store their video assets. In the same amount of time that it takes to publish a video, users simply need to add a new transcoding profile to the asset where speech will be automatically detected and a new captions file will be created.

Users can preview the video in Content Hub and make any edits to the VTT captions file if required. At the point of setup, a minor front-end update will be required to pull the caption file into your chosen video player.

Automatic Video Captions comes with support for 37 different languages, making it easier than ever for global brands to improve content accessibility, reach a larger audience and generate stronger engagement.
