Experience Architect

The Experience Architect is the lead voice for all technical communications related to customer-facing experience concepts, assisting with requirements gathering and prioritization, scope validation, targeted training, and delivery planning, while maintaining a continued influence over technical, strategic, and usability direction of every Amplience initiative.
You’ll also be responsible for the management and delivery of technical documentation, and acts as a point of contact for technical questions and escalations.
 
Responsibilities include:
  • Upkeep of Confluence Project Spaces (technical perspective)
  • Shared Customer Space contributor (Showpad)
  • Solution issue management & communications
  • Solution proposal review & validation
  • Documentation of proposed solutions
  • Technical workshop lead
  • Oversight of schema development, migrations, etc
 Project-specific Specialization:
  • Issue diagnosis, recommendation & remediation
  • Integration, data flows & transformation, technical architecture
  • Solution architecture & related platform considerations
  • Platform provisioning & configuration strategy
  • Delivery & support effort estimation
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues within the context of a project or customer initiative.
  • Build confidence through credibility, integrity, and positive consultation.
  • Understand context and complexity in issues, requests, and proposals, and translate concepts appropriately between relevant parties.
  • Identify, navigate, and propose mitigations regarding risk in requests, proposals, architectural considerations.
  • Pro-actively offer guidance in response to questions, delivery plans, technical and UX proposals.
  • Translate business requirements to achievable technical solutions.
  • Take a measured and pragmatic approach to risks and opportunities of change management and digital transformation programs.
  • Lead consultative calls covering topics including, but not limited to experience architecture, browser capability, native application considerations, multi-channel displays, content strategy, ideal content and asset flows, site optimization, and caching best practices.
  • Recommend appropriate course of action in response to a proposal, issue, or request.
  • Support proofs of concept (developed by customers and approved partners) by sharing expertise, consultative guidance, and documented recommendations.
  • Demonstrate capability of the Amplience platform, with relationship to contextual presentation of content and digital assets
  • Navigate solution discussions within the context of related platforms, integrations, screens, and user experiences.
  • Co-author documentation and other artifacts, often as outputs to service engagements (our “Amplifiers” or accelerators)
  • Play a leadership role in the further development and evolution of the Premier Success practice.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • Minimum of 5 years in a technical development role; 3 years in a technical consulting role
  • Strong customer-facing skills, including opportunity support, presentation development & delivery
  • Demonstrable thought leadership in UX and related technologies
  • Frontend web development expertise, including mastery of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Working knowledge of solution integration via APIs
  • Deep understanding of the architectural and business role of CMS, from a technical and business perspective
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical counterparts, and maintain a ‘communication short-hand’ between product teams, system integrators, creative, marketing and business users
  • Experience delivering solutions within common development methodologies (Scrum, Agile or Waterfall)
  • Hands-on experience delivering technical solutions within the commerce domain, including all or a sub-set of legacy/’monolith’, MACH, Composable, PWAs, SPAs, SSGs, Client-Side vs Server Side.
  • Previous experience working with any of the following: GraphQL, Webhooks, Handlebars, JSON and/or a CMS platform is a plus
  • Familiarity with various headless deployment and app container strategies, like Vercel, Kubernetes, Azure, Amazon, Docker
  • Familiarity with API-driven applications and troubleshooting API calls with Postman
  • General understanding of frontend frameworks such as React/Next, Svelte/Kit
