# Next Generation Authoring- scheduling

In this release, we’ve incorporated the [Next Generation Authoring](https://amplience.com/developers/docs/schema-reference/) experience into scheduling - providing a more consistent and intuitive experience across Dynamic Content.

## What this means for you

As a content scheduler, you now have the **option to switch on Next Generation Authoring for scheduling** in Dynamic Content. You can continue working as usual without any disruption.

> **Info: Enabling Next Generation Authoring for scheduling**
> You can currently switch Next Generation Authoring on or off for scheduling. We recommend turning it on to take advantage of the enhanced interface. See [Switching on Next Gen Authoring for scheduling](#switching-on-next-gen-authoring-for-scheduling).

## What's changed?

Once enabled, Next Generation Authoring features are available in the **editions** and **edition conflicts** screens of the Scheduling tab. These include enhancements such as compact cards and drag-and-drop functionality. [More about Next Gen look and feel](https://amplience.com/developers/docs/schema-reference/).

### Editions screen

With Next Generation Authoring switched on for scheduling, its features become available for working with slot content on the editions screen.

The enhanced look and feel provides a more intuitive experience, making it easier to find validation errors, and arrange slot content using actions to add items above or below, and move them directly to the top or bottom.

### Edition conflicts screen

Enabling Next Generation Authoring for scheduling also makes it available on the edition conflicts screen - displaying the enhanced look and feel when you open a version of content.

## Switching on Next Gen Authoring for scheduling

Next Generation Authoring for scheduling is off by default, allowing you to enable it when you're ready.

### Switching on for an organization

Your organization has the option to set whether Next Gen Authoring for scheduling is on by default - so it's automatically activated for all users and their hubs. Users can still turn it on or off locally whenever they want.

Please contact Amplience Support to switch on Next Gen Authoring for scheduling by default for all users in your organization.

### Switching on locally

Users can switch on Next Gen Authoring for scheduling locally, using the "Scheduling" switch in the Hub properties dialog:

When using this setting:

- The setting is local to you for the browser on your device, it doesn't impact other users
- If you're working incognito the setting isn't saved
- If you swap to a different type of browser the setting won't carry over
